Hi, I’m Jeff.

I’m an Endpoint Engineer specializing in Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Windows Autopatch. My work focuses on designing, implementing, and operating cloud‑first endpoint environments that are secure, automated, and reliable at scale. I treat endpoint management as an engineering discipline—balancing security, user experience, and long‑term operational support.

This site is my personal space for deep dives into scripting, architecture, tools, and ideas I encounter while building and learning how to solve real-world technical problems. Expect practical explanations, thought-out opinions, and experiments—written for people who care about how things actually work.

Why I Write

  • clarify my own thinking (kind of a technical journal)
  • document solutions (I wish I’d found sooner)
  • share what works (and what doesn’t)

If something here saves you time, helps you debug an issue, or gives you a new perspective, then it’s done its job.

Here are some of my latest blogs in case you’re interested (see them all here):

About Me

I’m a Systems Engineer with a career in device and endpoint management that spans back to the late 1990s, including nearly 18 years at Microsoft in a variety of technical and customer‑facing roles.

Over the years, I’ve worked across multiple generations of device management—from early on‑premises solutions (all the way back to SMS 1.2!) to today’s cloud‑first, modern management platforms and services (Microsoft Intune) and everything in between. Over the years I’ve gained a deep understanding of how these technologies evolve and what it takes to run them successfully in real environments.

I’ve blogged a lot in various places, written some books for Microsoft Press, and speak at device management conferences every chance I get. So, if you see me at MMS, come say hi!

I’m actively involved in the device management community, sharing knowledge, lessons learned, and practical guidance to help others solve problems while continuously sharpening my own understanding. For me, community engagement isn’t just about contributing—it’s one of the best ways to keep learning and improving.
